Our stance on AI.
I'll repeat again: Fuck AI Slop.
First we need to explain what we mean. For our explanation, there are broadly 2 categories of AI. Generative AI (Gen-AI), which use LLMs, and all other AI, like machine learning.
ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. are all Gen-AI. They are what produce AI Slop like AI images.
We are strictly against all forms of Gen-AI art – if you can even call it art. This includes all images, videos, books, songs, etc.
We don't use Gen-AI for any of our designs, not even during the concept stage. We only work with real artists. The Gen-AI models were trained on copyrighted materials and the artists did not receive any compensation.
That being said, other types of AI do have useful applications. We don't believe that AI in general should be banned or that it should not exist. For example, AI has outperformed doctors in the very early detection of cancer. It can also help with wildlife conservation by counting species' populations.
Still, the authors of the training data should have been paid or compensated.
